Poletto: Three Generations of Transport Since 1948
Poletto Group was founded in 1948 on the initiative of Girmo Poletto, an entrepreneur from Fiesso d’Artico (Venice), from whom the company takes its name. From the very beginning, the company supported the economic recovery of the Riviera del Brenta in the post-war period, at the heart of the area’s historic footwear district.
As the company grew and expanded beyond national borders, the original business was joined by Poletto Girmo Spedizioni e Trasporti Internazionali srl, dedicated to international transport services. In 2010, both activities were brought together under Poletto Girmo Spedizioni e Trasporti Internazionali srl, marking a key milestone in the Group’s development.
Over three generations, Poletto has progressively expanded its operational scope, evolving from a local company into a group capable of operating nationwide through a network of selected partners, and internationally through collaborations with more than 30 European partners.
Alongside its transport activities, the Group has pursued a diversification strategy with the creation of Venice Logistics, a company focused on integrated logistics and warehouse management. Its facility at the Padua Freight Village (Interporto di Padova) represents the core of this development, offering logistics services ranging from first- to fourth-party logistics (1PL–4PL).
